Yep, but since that time rumor has it that David hasn't aged so well...

Art Appreciation 101

The story of David has biblical origins,
and he represents the little guy who
clobbers the big guy with just one blow
to the head with a hard rock.

Goliath was Dave's giant enemy, his victim
and his claim to fame, fortune and power.

It is doubtful that Dave really went into battle
looking like this statue, but this rendition
has certain aesthetic qualities that are
unique and inspirational.

When I was young I wanted to study medicine

At the entrance exam we were asked to rearrange the letters PNEIS and form the name of an important human body part which is most useful when erect.

Those who answered spine are doctors today, while the rest of us are sending jokes via email.

An American woman has just made the news in the UK.

If you like Mozart, you may enjoy THIS, from the UK's Daily Mail, which prides itself on being a family newspaper.

"Miss Whack, I'd like to borrow $30,000 to take a holiday."

Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager.

Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral.

The frog says, "Sure. I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.

Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office.

She finds the manager and says, "There's a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral."

She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what in the world is this?"

(you're gonna love this)

(its a ringer)

(a real masterpiece)

( ahhh....now, come on, wait for it)

The bank manager looks back at her and says...

"It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man's a Rolling Stone."

(You're singing it, aren't you? You're on my radar screen. I know you're singing it.......)

On Facebook today:

There are three kinds of people in this world.
Those who are good with math
and those who aren't.
