It was a big fish:
we all had to help
get that giant to
the shore.

I might quit fishing
for big fish like that.
To take it from the river
was not an act I want
to remember forevermore.

It was a fighter.
It was old.
It was too bad
that day, we did not
get his weight in gold.

You can find my book at Amazon. It is called BEARING IT: THE LIFE OF A NEW MEXICO WOMAN. It has over 200 pages and a photo gallery in back.

It's honest. Write a review at Amazon. Be honest.

If I may be permitted;

From Carmela's ( Bio ) on the back of the cover is stated: " Her goal is to encourage Americans to care about the health and happiness of everyone and demonstrate it proudly through our personal choices as well as our conduct in the world. "

How beautifully expressed Carmela. 8)

Thank you, James.

Today I'm looking up everything I can find on press releases. How I wish I were the gazillionaire that folks think I am. I'd hire a publicist in a New York minute. All the websites that tell you how to write a press release make it sound so easy peasy. Then, when you think you might know enough to write one, you have to figure out how to get it out to the world.

The first time I do something, it is downright scary, and this is truly a first for me.

Wish me luck. All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth.

It's like Christmas morning, Jan. Thank you and thank Santa, too.

I've been looking forward to this day for a long time. I remember when I flew an airplane all by myself, I loved being a pilot, if only for that one trip up in the air and down again. As much as I enjoyed my first solo flight, I never flew a plane again. It involved too much expense and risk.

This is different, because it feels like a beginning of something I will enjoy for a long time. I'm hoping it will prove to have been a worthwhile endeavor, in spite of limitations. After all, it is not all sweetness and light. Truth can be a bitter pill.

You know the time
when you so vividly
remember that last
earthly moment you had
with the one you love
who is now gone -
it comes out of nowhere.
How can that be?
We feel the magnified emotion.
We multiply the significance.
We relive the moments.
And, somehow, then again,
that snapshot is ephemeral,
we wake up, and we are left
with the trail of a tear
running down our cheek.
Time can kiss away the pain,
but the memory, in the trail
of a tear, will remain.

We evolved past the need
for imagination mythica
or so we thought
and that thinking
was...is mythica ars
symbolic
in code
get the blues
listen to the music
that sound
music
percussion
strum
I just want
to live another day
to hear the music play

It's been a good bit since I wrote anything...poetic. My last post was the first time in a while - and then, a few days later I see this:
WHERE EVERYTHING IS MUSIC

We have fallen into the place where everything is music.
The strumming and the flute notes rise into the atmosphere,
and even if the whole world's harp should burn up,
there will still be hidden instruments playing.
So the candle flickers and goes out.
We still have a piece of flint and a spark.

This singing art is sea foam.
The graceful movements come from a pearl
somewhere on the ocean floor.
Poems reach up like spindrift at the edge
of driftwood along the beach, wanting!
They derive from a slow and powerful root
that we can not even see.

Stop the words now.
Open the window of your chest,
and let the spirits fly in and out.

Watch the glow
during a show.
Is that artist(a)
floating...
or grounded?

that you watch
has the effect
observer - you

Put out your heart

Wear it on your sleeve
project love
that's all
we need

Is your heart blue?
Try a color new...or neu.- tral

Find the blue
in your heart true
and make music
happen stance 8)

Ice

Ice, blue and grey, cracked as my tongue froze and we heard the sound.
It came apart, my tongue, as it fell to the floor and made a sound.

Broken into pieces, that voice, that silver and white sound of mine.
It stopped being liquid, my flowing words, and the ice gave out a noise.

Heard the spirit freeze, all at once, sending a message to the ears.
It ended, the free soul, as it hit hard and caused the universe to tremble.

Cold, below the mark, that solid moment shattered into little pieces.
It left the form, the river of thought, and the icicle-become-dust lay still.

Beautiful imagery, Carmela.

I just can't find the words
To describe my heartaches,
But the Blues got MUCH bluer.

I feel like a patriarch
Lost in the wasteland
I've got to pull through
But I'm just feeling
Like I am wondering
Aimlessly.

Sometimes I find myself
Singing our songs -
You ARE MY Sunshine.
