That's what happens when one reads a statement literally and project
one's own philosophical concerns to what one reads !!! So sorry, Carmela.

Yet, your observations on Shadow and all its implications in a divers
social context are very noteworthy and reflect the profound acquisition
rarely achieved in a single life-time. This issue is multi-faceted and
very complex indeed. Thank you.

Law, the system and heroic act. I won’t deny that their reciprocal interaction
is still a question mark in many aspects to my mind

Here’s some keywords for ashes as metaphor in several cultures that come to mind
at once; knowing one’s proper place, humility, repentance, forgiveness, mortality,
purification, transformation, prime mater, Phoenix, rebirth, etc. Thanks.

I never thought or dreamed that I would ever have the honor and the privilege of accepting such a humble task as caregiving. This forum has provided me with wings to fly away from the frustration that is my patient's quadriplegia and my own wanting to rise above the suffering that I witness.

Carmela,
Let me ask something if you'd kindly permit. That's about your essay
on Turkish forum. How did-you develop such an intimacy with time?

Better late than never, Cindy.

Yes I know the Diplomate Degree is what one attains when one graduates from any of the Jung Institutes. My friend, who is an analyst received her Ph.D in Analytical Psychology, in Europe, before she received her Diplomate. (it's been 2 years, I think that was the subject we were discussing) .

You're so very right, Persephone. 8)

But know what? I've mentioned this elsewhere on the board recently, but given that I'm going to turn 54 in a matter of weeks (And I just had to stop and recalculate that one. Ha!), I'm preparing to transition from hands-on and hearts-on therapy full-time to focusing on mental health issues from the journalistic angle after getting additional education. Too often mental health professionals devote too much of our emotional energy to others and forget about taking care of ourselves as we should, and in certain ways I've been no exception. I very much hope, though, to undergo Jungian analysis someday if I can afford it and happen to live within driving distance of a Jungian analyst.

Hey, where does your friend practice? :D Is she in Europe? On the US west coast somewhere? If so, :( for me.

Cindy :)

I have two close friends who are analysts in Colorado Springs, Co. There Is a Jung Institute in Denver. Lots of analyts about!

I know what you are saying about caregiving. I am in Alabama, caring for a parent who is failing, health wise. That's why I had time to figure out why I couldn't get to the site and straighten it out. I'm considering applying to Pacifica, possibly for a mythology doctorate. I've talked about it for years and I believe I want to go for it.

We only live once (that I know of), and I'm ready to start mine again.

I'm sorry to hear about your family situation, Jan. My best to you both.

As for Pacifica, recently a wise woman said to me, "Better late than never." :P Pacifica's programs didn't exist when I went to graduate school, but if it been otherwise, I would've been there, honestly. Pursuing a doctorate in mythology would be interesting as heck. Go for it. :)

Subject Shadow
I have thought on the subject of shadows also.
The Gospel of Peace also discusses about some transformations from being a tree of death to becoming a tree of life.
Some thoughts, there are more references to retrieve from Gnostic Texts
Inspiration...Love is shining a light into the darkness.
1.
Let your light shine in the darkness
,
Love All As The Sun Does Shine On Good and Evil alike, Love more those who do the Heavenly Father's Good Will.
.. (attributed to Christ Jesus in Essene Gospels of Peace )
2.Some Gnostic Texts ...Hermetic Trimegistus...
3.Shadow of St. Peter
4. "The ESSENE BOOK OF ASHA" by Prof.E.B.Szekely
5.Rank and File, Devi's, Krafstras
6.Vegan
7.
Shadow of Heaven
Psalm 91
Shadows sometimes similar to the Dark Side, the Dark Chess Board ...that
there is The Mother with all things.
There is a good seed there in the dark side, the unbegotten son, to clothe in the Begotten Garments
Not to move them, per se, before good seed is grown. But as one is with Life respect, the Yama's , virtues, that that seed can become garmented in the begotten.
Love the Truth of what it can be. Love what the Mother loves.
