Send Your Name to Mars

Post by Ercan2121 »

Send your name to Mars and let it
stay there eternally!
Don't you think it's fascinating?
Let's become part of this scientific adventure
with our names and our dreams :)

Submit your name to be included with others on a microchip
on the Mars Science Laboratory rover heading to Mars in 2011
and get your personal certificate

Even if someone (or something) were to find it, wouldn't it be ironic if they asked themselves "Why did they need names?"

Let me answer with a short poem;

'I have fallen in love with names
The sharp names that never get fat
The snakeskin-titles of mining-claims
The plumed war-bonnet of Medicine Hat
Tucson and Deadwood and Lost Mule Flat'

Hello all,
The next transit of Venus occurs June 5 or 6, 2012, depending on your location.
Observers in North America see it the evening of June 5.
A transit of Venus occurs when Venus passes directly between the Sun and Earth.
This alignment is rare, coming in pairs that are eight years apart but separated
by over a century.
Mark your calendar. Plan your observing location and eye safety. Tell friends.
Download and support the phone app, etc.

Righthand side on the map, above, one can see the sea Marmara and there’s a
tiny blue dot on the sea touching the map’s border.
That’s the nose of Yalova peninsula that now i live.
And the map -i think- looks a little more beautiful on Nasa’s sattelite images,
incontestably.

So amazing to find that some people don't feel at all connected to
what's happening in the Skies. Then, can-we say that they're connected to
our Planet the Earth or Humanity as a whole ?

So sorry to find that your beautiful avatars are gone!
May-I ask what's happening?
Are-we against art in this multimedia age?

Until the site upgrade next month--hopefully--those avatar-thieving gremlins will likely persist, nermin.

Dear Cindy,
Alternatively, we can protest this and stop posting until our avatars are brought back?
After all, aren't-we 99% ?
