Documentaries and movies
Didn´t really know where to put it - but here goes.
Not withstanding all the books I read, I have also gotten kind of addicted to documentaries concerning religion, mythology, anthropology and culture.
Thought of making a list of movies for people to see - and also get others to list their favourites.
So here goes:
1. In search of myths and heroes - Michael Wood
2. The Story of India - Michael Wood
3. The Tribal Eye - Davis Attenborough
4. Tribe - Bruce Parry (This is a bloody great one - 936 min collection - amazon)
5. Around the world in 80 faiths - Peter Owen Jones (my personal favourite)
6. The extreme series - Peter Owen Jones
7. The Edge of existence - Donal MacIntyre
8. Legacy the origins of civilisation - Michael Wood
9. The Story of God - Robert Winston
10. Ancient voices
Amazon is your friend -
Except 5+6 due to difficulties as to who are going to release them on DVD - saw and recorded them from BBC

You too eh? " Around the world in 80 Faiths" sounds interesting. Exploring comparative religion makes me want to go back to school and get a degree in it.Not withstanding all the books I read, I have also gotten kind of addicted to documentaries concerning religion, mythology, anthropology and culture.
Infinite moment, grants freedom of winter death, allows life to dawn.
It is interesting - Peter Owen Jones is a anglican pastor who travels around the world and meets up with people from 80 different faiths. You would think it difficult to cram that into 8 episodes - 8 hours in total. But the way it´s made it makes perfect sense.Neoplato wrote:You too eh? I have seen it twice now -

It's a fascinating Q&A.

I have one interesting documentary to recommend. I personally regard it as a "must".

There are a few free documentary sites on line. This is one of them that may have a few films of interest.

I don't know what's happening to my posts; it's true
that they they're disappearing sometimes
It also happens that gremlins are posting on my name.
They didn't touch my avatar so far -not yet
That's a great site you've suggested and I remember
having asked about one or two movies you recommend
